Newton made the long trip to New Abbey to take on Abbey Vale in the SSFL. 3 changes to the starting XI with Euan Sneddon, Stuart McClymont and Fraser Anderson coming in to the starting XI.
The conditions dictated the game with horrendous wind and rain and to both teams credit, they tried to play football and fair play to them for doing so.
The first goal came after 25 minutes and it was the visitors who opened the scoring, an excellent cross by Aaron Drysdale found Marc Whyte who prodded home from close range.
