Today saw us on our travels for our last game of the season, we headed northward in the region to Sanquhar to face Nithsdale Wanderers Football Club. The young lads got off on the right foot, showcasing their pace which has been an attribute all season, and causing trouble for the home defence. Unfortunately for us at about the 15 minute mark, we conceded a goal to put us 1-0 down. Once again showing the spirit the young team has shown all season to keep fighting and not let the heads go down, we were awarded a penalty, after striker Kieran McKnight used his pace to

Today saw us make the relatively short journey to Blairmount to face local neighbours and league leaders Newton Stewart Football Club. With the home side having a great run results, another tough afternoon was on the cards for our young lads. Not a lot separated the teams for the first 20 mins. Today saw us on the road, heading to Dumfries to face Lochar Thistle FC in this league meeting. The home side coming of a victory midweek would have the momentum behind them, meaning they would be right up for the game. This proved to be the case with the game starting at a quick pace, with the home side drawing first blood with the game only a few minutes old. A corner was sent in and caught the boys sleeping with the lochar man unmarked and able to get a free header away and past Louis to take an early lead. The boys heads never dropped and they kept the heads down

Today we welcomed Newton Stewart to Trammondford park. The game started at a frantic pace and both teams settled quickly. The young Wigtown team played some very good football at times but the experience of the Newton side showed as they drew first blood. This game being our penultimate league game the young lads were looking to make a statement. We had the first chance of the game when Kieran McKnight made a break down the wing to deliver a nice ball across into the box only for the keeper to collect just before our striker managed to get on the end of it. This would be a recurring event with the youngster making the most of his speed but we just couldn't find the end produ

Trammondford Park was bathed in the sunshine today, something we've not been able to say for a while and look forward to saying more. Last night saw us complete our second last game of the season as we hosted league contenders Dalbeattie Star FC in a re arranged fixture after the initial encounter fell foul o the weather. With the nights stretching and the weather showing signs of improving it made for ideal conditions for the game. Looking to finish the league strong the young lads knew it would be a good team they were facing, like the rest of season however the lads weren't daunted by this and set about the challenge. For the first 25 minutes we matched the visitors all the boys putting in a shi
